Since I was a little boy, I heard the word Cascais like always it was something special, and I discover it, that it was indeed, a special place, where all the beaches start to appear after we are coming from Lisbon, and that felling of vacation is entering our spirit, and we are already felling even more happy that we were.

So, I decided when I grew up, I want to live in Cascais, can be in the “ghetto” but I will live near of the beaches. That was my decision!

I looked for many locations in Cascais council, and I discover one that was the most balanced one, thinking always in the price, beaches, and to have the opportunity to say, “I live in Cascais”, where many important and glamorous people live. Even if it was only in the Council, and not in the center.

And I found, São Domingos de Rana!!!

São Domingos de Rana is a place, where most of the people I met, they where very nice people, very educated, very elegante and kind with others, and it is a location that we are just 5 or 10 minutes from the best beaches, catching all that divine package of Portugal sun, plus Portugal sand, plus Portugal water. It is cold, but at the same, is Portugal´s marvelous water right!?

Just side by side with Sao Domingos de Rana we have the famous location of Parede, and near of Parede the majestic location of Carcavelos.

So if we try to go to Parede for example, the square meter value will increase; to Carcavelos will increase even more; to Cascais center will be even higher.

I was raised in the council of Sintra, and when was the time to buy my first home, you can not imagine how many apartaments I saw before I bought my first apartament in São Domingos de Rana.

It was my first little fortune, where I saved money while I was in aviation. Many days eating cerelac, for lunch and dinner, in the hotel room.

I can say, at least around 30 houses, that I’ve visited, before I go foward with the process of buying.

It was super difficult to find the most correct choice for me, but when I did it, when I discovered São Domingos de Rana, I felt like I was discovering the “new gold”, because it was affordable and near of the location of my dreams, near of Carcavelos beach, near of the center of Cascais.

After I bought the apartment, i saw the prices of the houses for sale in that location, and I could see that, year after year, the house increase it’s commercial value around 15% more.

I rented my apartament for several years also, and I can say I had always  many people interested to rent my apartament for long term.

São Domingos de Rana is around 15 to 20 minutes from the center of Lisbon, 10 to 15 minutes from the center of Cascais, and you have nearby the private hospital CUF, International school, Nova University in Carcavelos, NATO, 5 minutes by car from Parede train station, all the services, all the most perfect beaches.

So here is my pure friend suggestion for your list of happiness, when you have the opportunity, go foward and invest in São Domingos de Rana, and year by year, you will notice how much your investment will increase, in a “smart location” like this one.
